Your health matters greatly to us, which is why we have implemented extensive measures to ensure all our customers have a carefree holiday. Let’s look after each other and comply with the recommended health precautions.

Our prevention policy is constantly being adapted according to the latest developments and in line with the latest government stipulations, or those from Seilbahnen Schweiz.

Covid 19 prevention measures

The protection measures listed below apply with the aim of protecting the health of our customers and colleagues as much as possible:

  • Signage
    We point out the hygiene measured to be followed at the entrances and stations. In addition, we regularly provide up-to-date information about the current situation at ticket sales points, at stations, on our website and social media channels. If you have any questions, please ask our sales and cable car staff.
  • Hand hygiene
    Our cable cars and mountain restaurants have plenty of hand washing and disinfection facilities.
  • Covid-free access to the area
    People who are suffering from coronavirus or show symptoms of being infected with coronavirus must not enter the area.
  • Compulsory masks
    A mask that covers the mouth and nose must be worn in any enclosed cable car (gondola) by anyone aged 12 and over. A mask that covers the mouth and nose must be worn in all indoor or enclosed facilities accessible to the public (including outdoor gondola waiting areas, mountain food outlets, toilets and shops). It is not necessary to wear a mask on chair lifts, ski lifts and when queuing outdoors. It is compulsory for passengers aged 12 and over to wear masks. This also applies to people who have been vaccinated.
  • Do not close windows
    Keep windows open in all enclosed cable cars during travel. Please do not close the windows.
  • Restricted numbers in big gondolas
    Gondolas with a capacity of 25 people or more will no longer be filled to capacity, but only to 70 percent. 
  • Waiting areas
    The waiting areas are organised so that groups of people are prevented as much as possible from standing close together. Please keep your distance from other people and wear a mask inside buildings.
  • Cable car cabin disinfection
    We regularly clean all the gondolas.
  • Disinfection of spaces/surfaces
    The toilet facilities and surfaces are disinfected regularly.
  • Compulsory masks for employees in contact with customers
    Employees who come into contact with customers wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth.
  • Covid-19 officers
    People with underlying health conditions can contact Adelboden Bergbahnen staff at any time. We have trained Covid-19 officers.

Mountain food outlets operate as specified by the “Gastrosuisse” industry organisation.

  • Covid passports inside mountain restaurants
    Only customers who have a valid Covid passport (vaccination or recovered) and official identity card/passport are permitted to enter mountain restaurants. The Covid passport that is issued on paper, as a PDF document with a QR code, or in digital format, documents your Covid vaccination status or that you have had Covid and recovered.

We want customers who are exempt from wearing masks for a specific reason to enjoy a carefree visit to the Adelboden-Lenk ski region too.
We have taken special precautions for customers who have a doctor’s certificate exempting them from wearing a mask that covers their mouth and nose. They will be able to travel in the Adelboden-Lenk ski region but must be able to prove their exempt status with a doctor’s certificate.

Customers who are exempt from wearing a mask are requested to check the regulations and procedures in the relevant ski resort when visiting Tschentenalp, Elsigen-Metsch and Engstligenalp.

Rules for visiting the main Adelboden-Lenk ski resort:

  1. Report to the Sillerenbahn, Stand X-Press Metsch or Betelberg cable car valley stations.
  2. When you have shown your exemption certificate, signed a declaration of consent and paid a CHF 50 deposit, you will be given a green vest to indicate your exempt status, available from these stations only.
  3. You must wear the vest everywhere in the ski resort to indicate to our employees and fellow visitors that you are medically exempt from wearing a mask.
  4. Please use the separate entrances and waiting areas, if available, which are signposted in green.
  5. Thank you for observing the rules and making life easier. We hope you have a great day exploring our resort!

These key rules are based on the current applicable cantonal regulations. Modifications may be made at any time as a result of changes in the epidemiological situation and political decisions. We reserve the right to modify the measures in accordance with official directives. The latest information is continually updated here.

Play your part

  • If possible, purchase your ski pass online in advance from our webshop and benefit from a cheaper rate.
  • Pay without using cash, contactlessly.
  • Keep your distance out of solidarity with and respect for your fellow visitors.
  • Wear a mask when compulsory, in the waiting area and during the journey in an enclosed cabin.
  • Leave the windows open during the journey to ensure the gondola cabin is well ventilated.
  • Follow the hygiene regulations.
  • If you have any coronavirus symptoms, stay at home or in your accommodation. Visitors with coronavirus symptoms are not permitted to enter the summer sports resort.

Thank you for your cooperation. Please be cautious - the only way we will beat Covid-19 in Adelboden-Lenk is together.

Pandemic guarantee

We want you to look forward to your visit and so provide all holders of an Adelboden-Lenk local resident’s season pass and a Top4 ski pass with a Covid-19 money-back guarantee. In the event of a lockdown and resulting closure between 1 December 2021 and 3 April 2022, customers will receive a pro rata refund on the price. The refund will be made in cash. Customers are responsible for claiming the refund themselves. The refund can be claimed up until 30 April 2022, after which time there will be no further entitlement to a refund. If the official regulations for cable cars and/or winter sports resorts change (e.g. introduction of compulsory Covid passports), the Top4 resorts will also implement these. This will not give rise to an entitlement to a refund or to switch to a different season pass.

We guarantee the following refund for the Top4 ski passes and local resident’s Adelboden-Lenk season pass.

The overall area for which the ski pass is valid (Top4 or local resident’s season pass) must be affected by the closure.
